{"id":77,"date":"2026-05-19T10:36:08","date_gmt":"2026-05-19T10:36:08","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.wildflower.community\/index.php\/our-story\/"},"modified":"2026-06-05T13:32:24","modified_gmt":"2026-06-05T13:32:24","slug":"our-story","status":"publish","type":"page","link":"https:\/\/www.wildflower.community\/index.php\/our-story\/","title":{"rendered":"Our Story"},"content":{"rendered":"\n<p class=\"has-text-align-left wp-block-paragraph\">Wildflower Caf\u00e9 is brought to Upper Westwood by Paul and Loulou.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"has-text-align-left wp-block-paragraph\"><strong>Here&#8217;s a little bit of our story&#8230;<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Back in 2011, Paul launched our Community Interest Company<br>&#8220;Meadow in my Garden&#8221;.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">We&#8217;ve travelled all over, evangelising for nature, working with community groups, giving talks at clubs and garden shows, whilst selling flower seeds.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Over more than a decade our work has evolved but a mission to actively engage and support the community in local biodiversity projects has always remained at its core.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">In 2024, we started to hanker after a base:<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">A space for everyone to share ideas and to take positive steps to enhance wildlife habitats.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">We noticed this little park building in Upper Westwood, close to our home.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Long empty and in need of a purpose&#8230; <em>and so we began to dream.<\/em><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">With the warmth and enthusiasm of local residents and the dynamic support of Westwood Parish Council, a vision has been taking shape.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Fast forward to today and we have been joined by some wonderful and talented friends and neighbours, preparing to launch a caf\u00e9, garden and community space in spring 2026.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Alongside our vibrant neighbourhood caf\u00e9 hub and a garden filled with vegetables and flowers, we envisage space for craft groups and outdoor nature activities to celebrate the seasons.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">We will run themed supper clubs and will cater for private functions from our caf\u00e9 kitchen.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\"><em>Together we hope to create a beautiful community hub that is buzzing with life.<\/em><\/p>\n\n\n\n<figure class=\"wp-block-image size-full\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" width=\"750\" height=\"1000\" src=\"https:\/\/www.wildflower.community\/wp-content\/uploads\/2026\/06\/LoulouPaul.jpg\" alt=\"\" class=\"wp-image-240\" srcset=\"https:\/\/www.wildflower.community\/wp-content\/uploads\/2026\/06\/LoulouPaul.jpg 750w, https:\/\/www.wildflower.community\/wp-content\/uploads\/2026\/06\/LoulouPaul-225x300.jpg 225w\" sizes=\"auto, (max-width: 750px) 100vw, 750px\" \/><\/figure>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>Wildflower Caf\u00e9 is brought to Upper Westwood by Paul and Loulou.
